Overview:

As a freelance graphic designer I reached out to the crew at Discover NW Expeditions based out of Oregon to gauge their interest on new branding. They are a group of family/friends that enjoy venturing out in the wilderness seeking out new adventures. As a group they go off the grid to overland, “overlanding” is the growing trend that combines self reliant camping and off-roading to remote locations.

Creative:

With a few ideas from the group at Discover NW Expeditions I created a few different designs all based around the triangular shape the resembles the symbol on the maps that many GPS units use. Within the triangular shape is the mountain element, that symbolizes the type of terrain the group often ventures out to and through to reach their remote destinations. There a complete triangular shape within the main triangular element. In the lettering “NW” I again utilized the triangular element, this time in the “W” by doing this I was able to tie in the element to really complete icon and text of the branding.
